چکیده

the tenth issue of our addiction journal (former version of pjam) was ready to be published in summer 2010, but some discussions regarding the journal at the national center for addiction studies created a disturbing atmosphere for members of the editorial office. as if there were no hopes in continuing to run this three year old journal. currently in 2013, after three years of hard efforts, thanks to god the journal is re-established under the name of “persian journal of addiction medicine”. so i looked back at the last issue of the past journal which was never published! and found a paper that was supposed to be published in it, subjected: ‘methamphetamine addiction; a national disaster to be!’ i assumed it still would be nice to be read even after three years of being written. i tried not to change the manuscript, but rather to change the subject to: ‘methamphetamine addiction; a national disaster that was predictable!’ at the time when this article was written, price of methamphetamine was usd 7.5 per grams and is currently almost usd 1.25 per grams. sometimes i assume is it possible to predict and more importantly prevent future substance use disasters? what do you guess the next substance abuse disaster would be in iran?

As Depressing As It Was Predictable?
